DESCRIPTION


The client is a global healthcare ISV and one of the top Electronic Medical Record (EMR) vendors.
They have a multi-year program to reimagine and re-platform their legacy application suite as a SaaS based solution using modern technologies and frameworks deployed on AWS cloud.

Requirements

  • Strong Java Core
  • Experience with Spring (Core/Boot/MVC/Data)
  • Experience with Java application containers (Tomcat, Jetty)
  • Extensive experience building scalable, high-performance distributed systems
  • Knowledge of Web Services (REST, SOAP)
  • Critical thinking on development approach
  • At least Intermediate English level

Nice to have

  • Docker, Kubernetes
  • GCP / AWS

About the Project

Ideally, we are looking for a full-stack engineer who has familiarity with legacy Windows development ecosystem, as well as modern web stacks. While most of the new development will be done in React/Ruby/Java, new components will need to be integrated with the existing code, thus reading legacy C++/C#/Java code may be required.

Needs to be able to support code review process, enforce coding, architectural, testing, build and CI standards across the team.

Experience and willingness to do Full Stack development.
Experience with Java/Spring Boot, Ruby, React technologies.
Experience with SQL & NoSQL technologies, and specifically Oracle database.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with AWS not required but highly desired.
Familiarity with automated testing frameworks.
Familiarity in designing and developing microservices.
Familiarity in CI/CD and experience in automating pipelines.
Experience with healthcare, or other highlight regulated industries is a big plus.

Considering the breadth of technologies used and the move towards a modern AWS based solution, as well as the size and importance of the client, there is tremendous opportunity for learning and growth here for the right individuals.

Technology:
Client flagship product today is a Win32/64 based application that is hosted on premise, either by the client or their customers. The application UI consists of a mix of embedded components written in C++/C#/Java/Web technologies.

Prior to moving the whole application to a fully web-based SaaS model on AWS, the UI components will be incrementally converted to a modern web stack. The client uses their own web application development framework built on React and Ruby on Rails. Backend services are written in C++ and Java and currently being converted to REST-based microservices written in Java Spring Boot. The application uses Oracle as the backend database.
