DESCRIPTION


We are looking for talented Key Java Developer who will work on a big scale project for one of our most prospective clients.

Our customer is a major data analytics company working with personal information both domestically (US) and internationally.
We are searching for specialists who will help to advance building a completely new platform. This set of tools will be working within the context of portal, built with modern user experience and technology. We are building the solution from scratch on cloud using microservices architecture. Security wise – high standards are in place. The teams – that work as cross-functional squads - are autonomous, dynamic, open to new ideas, not afraid to experiment, and ready to implement solutions with highest care for quality. High independency and accountability are required from the team members. This job involves direct communication with the client and Senior Leadership roles.

ABOUT THE PROJECT


• The platforms are web applications
• Microservices architecture is selected as the target architecture
• There are multiple platforms that need to be aligned and integrated
• The development includes reimplementation of the existing functionality, as well as the introduction of new features.
• There is a CI/CD pipeline running in Jenkins.
• QA process is mostly automated.

Responsibilities

  • Participation in estimation sessions
  • Requirements clarification
  • Planning – both long-term and short-term
  • Customer communication
  • Communication on the project progress during scrum and status meetings
  • Implementation of features and bug fixing – writing reusable, maintainable, efficient and unit tested code
  • Participation in rigorous code review process
  • Implementation of securing and data protection rules
  • Documenting technical decisions and designs
  • Work distribution:
    • 60% solutioning & planning
    • 10% coding
    • 10% testing (test automation of your own code)
    • 20% meetings

Requirements

  • ENGINEERING CRAFTSMAN: experienced and efficient solutionist
  • CUSTOMER FOCUSED: Able to communicate and forge effective partnerships to deliver best in class software
  • AGILE THINKER: A thinker with agile mindset, who wouldn't get too much of distress due to requirements changes or ambiguities
  • CREATIVE MIND: Ready to ask the questions versus waiting for a perfectly shaped task description
  • RESPONSIBLE: Comfortable to have their work visible and scrutinized
  • COMMUNICATOR: Able to ask the right questions to elicit maximum needful information and able and ready to create necessary documentation
  • TEAM SPIRIT: Comfortable to work in the distributed team environment (different GEOs)
  • POSITIVE: Outgoing personality will be a great fit for our team
  • Java 11
  • Spring boot 2
  • Proficiency with Maven, IntelliJ, Git
  • Experience with RESTful web services
  • At least 5 years of experience
  • Upper Intermediate English is essential
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to solve algorithmic tasks
  • Strong OO design and OO programming skills
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and concepts like OOD, TDD, CI/CD
  • Solid experience working with Java core
  • A solid foundation in computer science, with strong analytical thinking and ability to solve algorithmic tasks
  • Strong competencies in data structures & software design
  • Web application development experience
  • Strong communication skills and capability of successful collaboration with cross- functional teams

Nice to have

  • Engineering or computer science education background
  • Facilitates requirements estimation process on each stage of the project like RFP. Able to effectively use multiple estimation approaches
  • Experience in SQL
  • Certification in areas of Business Analysis, Scrum Master or Product Owner
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Visio
