The project team is responsible for our Client’s in-house developed IT solution in Individual & Family Plan segment, which includes integration platform, workflow engine, and a few portals. This solution is a part of an end-to-end US Retail Platform for browsing, learning, shopping, purchasing, billing, and enrolling in our Client’s medical, dental, behavioral, and medical supplemental products. The team strives to enable the Client’s organization to satisfy business customers by continuous delivery of valuable and high-quality software that drives business performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee all aspects of development including establishing metrics, applying best practices, and developing new tools and processes if need be to ensure team goals are met
  • Act as the focal point for all team’s development cycle aspects, work with Client’s Delivery Manager and other stakeholders on the technical aspects and external dependencies
  • Manage estimations and be accountable for given commitments being abide by the team. Develop strong understanding to be able to give 75% accurate estimates as soon as request is raised in order to be able to prioritize accordingly
  • Draft user stories jointly with business and system analysts before they can be refined with the offshore team. Communicate business requirements, clarify functional & technical requirements to the offshore team
  • Play major role in PI and sprint planning (SAFe) working back-to-back with the Scrum Master, be aware of the team velocity, strength & weakness and guide the team and management to agree on
  • Work on spikes, technical designs before a feature is ready to be picked up by the team. Clarify all the open items and get the design approved
  • Lead and coach team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for growth
  • Design, implement, deploy, maintain and document solutions, participate in code reviews
  • Manage the multiple source repository, cherry-pick changes and maintain release repository, maintain release config repo in parallel to current development. Review approve and merge requests based on coding standards
  • Occasionally support new releases and business activities during after-hours or weekends
  • Collaborate with the offshore delivery organization to manage staff based in Poland

What You Have

  • University degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 8+ years of experience with IT projects, at least 3 fully participated and delivered projects. 6+ years strong hands-on development experience developing enterprise-class applications in technical stack used by Client’s solution
  • Proven ability to lead the design & build of complex technology systems
  • Experience on drawing up system and low-level designs
  • Experience managing software delivery teams. Ability to lead and inspire
  • Customer facing experience. Ability to negotiate while ensuring relationships with Client is always positive, cooperative and that conflicts are minimized and rapidly resolved
  • Solid communication, management, and inter-personal skills
  • Must be able to get things done, regardless of obstacles
  • Deep knowledge about Agile ways of leading the project with ability to adapt and find optimal solutions for the project team
  • Experience in working within cross-location teams
  • Strong knowledge of Design Patterns and comfort with the latest architectural paradigms
  • Willingness to travel to other Client’s delivery center locations across US
  • English of C1+ level (able to read, write, speak almost fluently)
  • Have a ‘full-stack’ mindset, willing to learn and work on different aspects of application development: user interface, API, backend logic, data storage, infrastructure, automated testing
  • Have a sense of ownership over the work being done by the entire team
  • Be comfortable interacting with all levels of the team and raise challenges when necessary
  • Can identify code defects and work with other developers to address quality issues in product code
