DESCRIPTION


The Finance Integration Lead role is responsible for program managing finance integration efforts with various teams for M&A deals requiring operational support in EPAM’s Finance organization and framework.

As a key member of our Finance Integration function, the Finance Integration Lead will work with various teams within the CFO organization and cross-functional integration teams (i.e., Corporate Development / Integration Management Office, Deal / Business Sponsors, Business & Delivery Champions, Operations, IT, Internal Applications, Legal, People/HR, Facilities, Talent Acquisition, Marketing, etc.) to coordinate and oversee Finance support for EPAM’s M&A integrations and pre-integration transition service agreements.

This role will report to our Head of Finance Integrations in the US and will help EPAM to scale integration efforts, ensuring that results are delivered consistently and efficiently for M&A deals in execution. The Finance Integration Lead should be willing and able to learn fast and independently within Finance and General Business domains – working with different business models, operational models, geographies, scale/maturity from a Finance standpoint.

Responsibilities

  • Design finance integration programs with direction from the Integration Management Office (IMO) and Head of Finance Integrations; work with Finance functional sub-tracks and other Finance Integration leads to develop and manage programs / plans that align with overall deal strategy and cross-functional integration strategy and plans while balancing needs and requirements of the EPAM Finance organization
  • Leverage frameworks, best practices, and learnings across EPAM’s deal portfolio to drive scalable finance integration processes on your assigned integration project; apply critical thought process to ensure deal specifics are incorporated into communications, plans, and approach as appropriate (e.g., nuances in business and operational model, integration strategy, capabilities and offerings, geographies, etc.)
  • Support IMO and cross-functional teams in various phases of integration (due diligence hand-offs, integration planning, post-close discovery and gap analysis, interim operations and data migration, transition planning / execution, change strategy and management, etc.); coordinate involvement of supporting Finance sub-tracks, as appropriate and necessary
  • Interface with EPAM business leaders and acquired Business and/or Finance leaders to ensure effective communication between Finance teams, EPAM deal / integration teams; acquired teams
  • Team with SMEs to understand process / gap analysis of acquired entities’ legacy processes, systems and controls, and plans to migrate to EPAM processes, systems, and controls
  • Report finance integration status to Head of Finance Integrations, Corporate Development group’s IMO, Controllership and other Finance stakeholders / supporting sub-tracks
  • Work with Finance and other functional SMEs to establish lines of communication, ensure information exchange (integration-related and monthly financial close), monitor execution of programs/plans, and assist dependency/issue escalation and resolution internally and with acquired teams; assist identification of key Finance and non-Finance stakeholders and explanation of various Finance processes to Stakeholders
  • Assist Controllers and Head of Finance Integrations with resolution of resourcing concerns, expectations, and communication with personnel from acquired entities
  • Work with Controllers and functional Finance leaders to manage risk throughout execution of integration plans including risk identification, escalation, mitigation and inter-dependencies; keep Head of Finance Integrations apprised of issues and resolutions
  • Assist continuous improvement in Finance integration framework and processes and work collaboratively with Finance Integrations team members and/or Finance sub-tracks to drive improvements in frameworks and efficiency in integration processes; other ad-hoc requests

Requirements

  • Total of 6-7 years experience in related Finance roles, preferably with Big 4 or consulting experience; previous experience in / exposure to M&A deals and Finance integrations of acquired companies highly preferred
  • 2-3 years in a Corporate Finance or related support function with strong understanding of finance processes, general business, and operations
  • 2-3 years in Finance program, project, or engagement management including experience in or understanding of risk management and cross-functional / matrixed project team planning
  • 2-3 years of experience in the IT services and platform engineering space or professional services / consulting industries highly preferred; SaaS and product experience a plus
  • Strong communication skills; ability to interact seamlessly with various levels of management within the EPAM Business, Finance management, and acquired business/finance personnel (often C-level, VP, senior executives)
  • Ability to operate, drive progress, and resolve issues in a matrix environment often without formal reporting lines/authority while working with 12+ Finance and other functional teams at a time
  • Understanding of or experience with change management techniques in high-growth, global organizations
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to identify, prioritize, communicate issues and create and execute action plans for resolution
  • Understanding of accounting (particularly US GAAP), controlling and other Finance domains
  • Ability to learn and understand the infrastructure (people, processes, systems and controls) of other Finance functions to the extent needed for high level identification of functional and cross-functional dependencies
  • Understanding of process management, improvement and optimization
  • Ability to work across cultures and time zones effectively
  • English language skills fluent to upper-intermediate
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
