Senior Delivery Manager (Financial Services) Description
About the role
We're seeking a Senior Delivery Manager equipped with deep comprehension and extensive hands-on experience in software development life cycles, diverse methodologies and Agile delivery, to oversee deliveries for our financial services clients in the Netherlands. In this role, you will be accountable for the overall project delivery, client satisfaction and management of expectations while ensuring that the work is on strategy, on time and within budget. You will be working alongside globally renowned and award-winning design, development and technology teams who are passionate about what they do and how they do it. You will play a key role in building strong business and technology relationships, take a ‘hands on’ approach to define, deliver and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the execution of substantial and intricate projects within our banking and financial services portfolio, with a focus on fintech, payments, insurance and retail sectors
- Propose innovative technology-driven solutions for enhancing marketing differentiation, improving efficiency and enhancing user experiences
- Develop, present and advocate detailed solution architectures, conduct architecture reviews/audits and present ROI calculations
- Engage in the entire pre-sales cycle, prepare customer proposals, define implementation and design and present solution architecture and delivery statements of work
- Manage the complete project lifecycle, from lead management and bid qualification to solution development and execution, taking accountability for financial, sourcing, development and business aspects
- Oversee multiple delivery streams and clients, conduct top-level governance meetings and analyze project factors and gaps for successful outcomes
- Lead solution implementation from defining project requirements to achieving solution "go-live"
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams of product owners, architects, engineers and quality assurance to drive estimates, delivery plans and retrospectives, while proactively managing engagement risks and identifying major issues
- Manage the delivery streams and lead the growth of a team of Technology Delivery Managers, providing coaching, mentoring and development support to enhance delivery capability throughout the department
Requirements
- Proven track record in consulting or IT professional services, specifically in managing accounts and deliveries for banking and financial services clientele
- Experience in building delivery teams and solutions. Proven experience in driving scalable enterprise initiatives and working in an agile environment
- Proven experience of hands-on managing delivery of complex end to end digital projects across various clients in the region
- Hands-on experience in technology and software engineering practices with ability to supervise and suggest competitive technical decisions and assure a winning mix of delivery practices applied on the project
- Experience in building and leading geographically distributed delivery teams, including experience in working with customer’s distributed team and defining right target operating model
- Expected to have exceptional organization, leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Self-motivated, flexible, multitasking, reliable to deliver on time, a quick-thinker, be able to work in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial work environment
